Spring Events Season Delivers Record Crowds and Standout Experiences at Tōmoana Showgrounds

Tōmoana Showgrounds has wrapped up one of its busiest and most successful Spring seasons in years, with significant events drawing thousands of visitors, athletes, and families from across the region. From high-energy fitness competitions to food festivals, cultural gatherings, and community celebrations, Spring showed exactly what the Showgrounds is capable of delivering.

Season Highlights

This Spring, we were proud to host:

  • HYROX – bringing incredible energy and participation from athletes across the country.

  • Urban BBQ Festival – a crowd favourite, drawing food lovers from near and far.

  • Lions Book Sale – another strong year for this cherished community fundraiser.

  • A&P Show – a classic Hawke’s Bay celebration with big crowds and sunny skies.

  • Ice Rink – a hit with families and young people throughout the season.

  • Rodeo – delivering strong attendance and plenty of excitement.

  • Dressage Championships – showcasing top-level competition and impressive talent.

Each event added its own flavour to a vibrant Spring calendar, and together they attracted one of the highest combined turnouts we’ve seen in recent years.
